This week has flown by, yet it also feels like it’s going at a snail’s pace. I traveled for work on Monday and Tuesday which threw me off schedule a bit.
I rarely travel for work, but when I do, I take full advantage of the time I have to myself to do some BIG idea thinking and reflecting. I reflected on my blogging journey thus far, and I have to admit, this is hard.
Hats off to all of the amazing bloggers out there who continue to write engaging content that we all want to know more about, for opening up their lives so we can connect, and for creating beautiful, magazine-quality photos.
I’m only just beginning this journey and still have so much to learn! I do get a flutter in my tummy when I sit down to write a post or come up with new ideas, so I know I’m heading in the right direction!
I digress….back to 5 Ways to Wear a Blazer!!
I believe a blazer is one of the most versatile items you can have in your closet. It can easily be dressed up or down. I often wear a blazer to work with dress pants or a dress.
For date night, I’ll throw a blazer over a tee with jeans and booties….voila! Here are 5 ways I like to wear a blazer. I hope this sparks some style inspiration for you so you can maximize this important item of clothing in your closet.
1) Pattern Mix
I’ve been having so much fun experimenting with pattern mixing…stripes and plaid, leopard print with everything!
Unfortunately, the JCrew vest I’m wearing is now sold-out. Try this fun striped sweater or this one. This tartan blazer from JCrew is definitely on my wish list and will look great layered with stripes.
2) Layer It
I have a few layers going on underneath my knit blazer from Zara (also, sold out but don’t worry! I have a few options below for other FAB knit blazers) .
First off, Majestic Filatures is perfect for layering. Although this turtleneck is a little pricey, I promise it’s worth it! I have worn and washed this top so many tops and it still looks the same as it did on Day 1.
I love this simple shell, also from JCrew, to layer over the turtleneck. I bought a size Large to have room to use as a layering piece. You can also add a shell over a crisp button-down like this one.
4) Say it or Wear it
Graphic tees are totally in (no surprise, here!). Pair your favorite graphic tee under a blazer for a dress-down look. There are so many to choose from these days.
5) Keep it simple
Of course, there’s always room for simplicity. A simple tank or shell is always a classic look. For a more casual look, try this tank from Vince. For a more dressy look, try this silk v-neck tank from Nic and Zoe.
